Since 1912, the González family has sold saffron from Albacete, a Spanish city. José Valeriano González began to commercialise it in Spain and it was his son Luis Valeriano González, who developed the export department in 1951 with great success. In order to expedite exportation, in 1958, the head office of the company was moved to Barcelona, maintaining the saffron growing and production operation in Albacete.

Isabel González, who heads a professional team integrated in Safinter S.A., has consolidated the quality of the company brands Safinter and Taj-Mahal as an international benchmark.
